With April coming to a close, here’s some more April Fools content to supplement The Art of the Prank.

Visit joeyskaggs.com and take a deep dive on his entire career, including his current projects.

Contemporaries of Skaggs, Nick Prueher & Joe Pickett (Found Footage Festival) are showcased in this 2022 doc, which catalogs their career, friendship, and a legal battle against one of the largest news media companies in America. Watch it for free on Tubi and Kanopy.

Prueher & Pickett launched their media takeovers with Mark Proksch, whose yo-yoing antics caught the attention Hollywood, landing him roles on The Office, Better Call Saul, and What We Do in the Shadows. Watch a compilation of Proksch as K-Strass here.

Another media hoax duo, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, are the subject of three documentaries:

  • The Yes Men (2003) - Watch free on Pluto TV

  • The Yes Men Fix the World (2009) - Watch free on Tubi

  • The Yes Men are Revolting (2014) - Watch free on Roku, Hoopla, Vudu, Tubi, Kanopy, Crackle, and Pluto TV

A discussion about politically-activated pranks wouldn’t be complete without mention of the most famous of the bunch, Sacha Baron Cohen. His most recent film, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020), is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

And here’s a bonus for our premium subscribers…
